I must admit, watercolors are my biggest love. Mostly because they were the first paints I ever used as a child.
Once I started painting with these translucent gems, I never stropped.
But teaching children how to use and appreciate watercolors in the age of short attention spans and impacted schedules can seem difficult and leave you wondering whether or not they belong in the art room anymore.
We created the Wild for Watercolor workshop hoping to shatter those beliefs and introduce easy strategies that will absolutely delight your students with the magic of a variety of watercolor materials and techniques.
Wild for Watercolor Overview
Get ready to dive deep into the world of watercolor; exploring pan watercolor, liquid watercolor, water-soluble crayons and techniques galore set against the backdrop of a lush, lively jungle theme.
This video-based workshop, presented by members of Deep Space Sparkle’s creative team, is an all-encompassing course for those looking to explore the wide, wonderful world of watercolor.
Creating a Sketchbook
Have you ever taken a course and felt like you can’t remember where you wrote down your notes or how to use a certain technique? Or which brand of supply the presenter suggested?
Wild for Watercolor includes a sketchbook component to help you organize all of your technique swatches, notes and thoughts in a beautiful, curated located. We’ve also included a workbook with sample sketchbook layouts to help you create your own personal watercolor toolkit.
As you watch our presenters deliver techniques, you’ll be guided through a sketchbook-making process that allows you to experiment, take notes and play with all of the techniques and projects.
Leveled Content
The course is divided into seven video modules with multiple bite-sized videos within each module so you can watch it all, or zero in on the techniques that most interest you without fast-forwarding and sifting through additional content.
The modules increase in complexity from the absolute watercolor beginner with no experience in the first module to advanced watercolor techniques for older or more experienced students.
Learn how to create experimental textures, use easy-to-prep water-soluble materials like watercolor crayons and gel sticks, layer to create rich colors and use masking fluid in this comprehensive watercolor course.
Lifetime Access
Life as a teacher is busy and we know that sometimes, even with best intentions, we know you might need extra time to complete courses or the freedom to go back and re-watch modules.
Signing up for Wild for Watercolor grants you lifetimes access to the content so you can complete the course at your own pace and go back to modules whenever the need arises. Join today!
